I so wanted to sit on the front porch this morning with my coffee, but the weatherman has predicted clouds and cold for the next week in Middle Tennessee: nothing higher than 45 and possibly as low as 18.
If we were having coffee right now … I’d tell you that my recent writing music is the sound track to the film Mr. Holland’s Opus. It motivates me. It wraps itself around my soul.
If we were having coffee right now … I’d tell you that although the winter here in Middle Tennessee has been a mild one compared to the last two in Northern Illinois, I am so ready for spring: for the grass to turn green, for the butterflies to emerge from the chrysalises we found in the branches of the Japanese maple in our yard, for warmer breezes to blow.
If we were having coffee right now … we might talk about the commercials that were aired during the Superbowl. I found most of them lackluster.
If we were having coffee right now … I’d tell you that about the only thing I miss about teaching was my creative writing students. I miss teaching creative writing. I miss the creative minds of the students. I miss reading what my students wrote. I miss talking with my students about writing. BUT, I don’t miss having to give students a grade for what they wrote.
If we were having coffee right now … I’d ask you what you thought about teaching creative writing online.
Thank you for sharing coffee with me this morning. Hope you have as great a week writing as I am planning to.
